About Ronald

A local guide, not a call center

Ronald Duke started Assisted Living Finder because he watched his own family struggle to find good care, with no one to help but a stack of confusing brochures.

Ronald grew up in northeast Mississippi, and he's spent his career here — not in a call center somewhere else, but on the same roads and in the same towns as the families he helps. When his own mother needed more care than she could get living alone, he learned firsthand how overwhelming it is to sort through assisted living facilities and retirement villages while also trying to hold down a job and take care of your own kids.

Assisted living facilities and retirement villages aren't the same thing, and Ronald spends a lot of his time helping families sort out which one actually fits. A retirement village is usually built for people who are still independent and just want the security of a community around them — no cooking, no yard work, neighbors close by. An assisted living facility is a different level of support altogether, with staff on hand to help with medication, bathing, meals, and the day-to-day things that get harder with age. Families often call asking about one when what they really need is the other, and untangling that confusion is usually the first real conversation Ronald has with them.

“Nobody should have to make this decision with a stack of brochures and a search engine. I wanted to be the person I wish my own family had.”

That experience is why Assisted Living Finder works the way it does. Ronald doesn't work for any one facility, and he doesn't get paid more for steering you toward one option over another. His job is simply to listen to your family's actual situation, then use what he knows about the assisted living facilities and retirement villages around Tupelo and Amory to point you toward the ones worth touring.

When Ronald tours a community, he's not just checking a name off a list. He walks the halls at different times of day, sits in on a meal when he can, and pays attention to the things a brochure won't tell you — how staff talk with residents when they don't think anyone important is watching, whether the activity calendar taped to the wall is actually followed, whether the place feels cared for the moment you walk in. Some communities look wonderful in their marketing and fall short in person, and others look plain from the parking lot but turn out to be exactly right for a particular family. That's the kind of detail he can only pass along because he's been there himself.

He's patient with families who aren't ready to decide yet, and honest with the ones who need a faster answer. There's no sales pitch and no pressure — just a local advisor who has personally visited these communities and will tell you plainly what he found.

Today, Ronald covers Tupelo, Amory, and the towns and neighborhoods around them, treating every family's call — whether they're in the city or a small community most directories overlook — with the same one-on-one attention.
